About Us

We are so glad we get to see you at the wedding!  If you haven't met one us before, or haven't seen us in awhile, here's what we're up to.

Amy is a young woman always up for adventure, except early in the mornings.  She's usually late to parties and other events, and wouldn't be surprised if she were late to her own wedding.  From when she was three and learned to sew from her mother to knitting at Luther College, she's blossomed as a general seamstress, knitter, spinner, and connoisseur of all things fiber. She has attended the Iowa State Fair every year of her life. She is currently studying medicine at the University of Iowa and plans to study Internal Medicine.

You can typically find Kris either with his nose in a book, typing up computer codes for his research, his hands sticky from bread dough, or running around the kitchen cooking up a new creation.  He likes to be early to parties, and gets a bit anxious when Amy makes him late.  If you want an amazing bread that takes 2-3 days to make, he's your man.  If he could, he'd be a life-long student and never get a job in the real world.  He is currently a physics Ph.D. candidate studying and researching plasma physics at the University of Iowa.

Check out our blog, Greenhouse Apartment, in which we chronicle our journeys with all our 60+ plants, baking bread, and adventures with food from our summer CSA.  Make sure to check out the bread turtles!
